The goal of this course is to expose you to emerging technologies in mobile computing and IoT. We will cover fundamental topics in signal processing and wireless networking - mostly from a sensing standpoint. We will be reading one research paper every week and discussing it in class. The class is project oriented, with 1 midterm exam. There will be 2-3 in-class quizzes and regular project presentations. Here are the topics we will cover: Intro to sensing, signal processing, mobile health, wearable sensing, multimodal sensing and machine learning, alternate sensing modalities, IoT networking. You will gain hands on experience applying signal processing and machine learning to build exciting systems.
